<p>A lot of our VR readers will be getting their Vive's and Rift's next week and might find themselves tired of using their normal computer. Why would you want to look at a 2D screen when you could fire yourself into the future with VR.</p><p>That's where new app Virtual Desktop comes in. This'll let you use your 2d computer in a 3d space. You need never leave VR again, until your bladder gets full.</p><p>This means you can do pretty much everything you would do on your computer in VR, including writing emails, watching Netflix, and more importantly, playing all of your games that aren't VR compatible.</p><p>Obviously none of this will work with the fancier features like positional tracking and the motion controllers as all of your non-VR games won't actually be playable in virtual reality, they'll just be projected onto a giant screen inside a three dimensional space.</p><p>Does this make it any less magical though? I'd wager not. You can buy Virtual Desktop for £10.99 on Steam. Bear in mind you'll need Windows 8 or 10 to make this work, and it makes use of some features exclusive to those. Maybe this is the thing that'll finally get me to ditch Windows 7.</p>�
